After Attack,
The Hunting Horn may seem like a weapon that only supports can use, but in the hands of an expert it can become a really powerful weapon. The combination of the buffs and the using the correct combos at the right time can make the Hunting Horn rival the DPS of the other high-tier weapons.
The Hunting Horn is mainly used by players to either buff themselves or their team by performing Songs that are available to play in the set. Also, the Hunting Horn can deal damage similar to a Hammer when used correctly.
Performing Songs are the key mechanic when using a Hunting Horn. Every time the player attacks, it will add a note to the Song which the player can perform by pressing R2. There are different sets of Songs among the Hunting Horns in the game which include different kinds of buffs within each set.
Performing these songs requires the player to queue the right notes in order, and after performing them, the Song will buff the player and their teammates depending on what buff the Song is associated with.
Flourish is a special move for the Hunting Horn because this move allows the player to play 2 Notes in one action. In order to execute a Flourish, the player must tilt the Left Stick forward and pressing the O button . This move consists of two strikes which can contain Attack Note B and another Attack Note of your choice.
To add the second Attack Note in the move, you need press the second Attack Note of your choice after your Hunting Horn passes the left side of your Hunter. Additionally, you can just spam the next Attack Note you want after executing the move.
The Echo Attack is the best damaging move for the Hunting Horn. This attack hits the monster multiple times and applies a lot of KO damage to them if you hit them on the head with it. To execute this move, you just need to press L2 after any attack you do while using the Hunting Horn.
After any attack >
The Impact Echo Wave is a song that is not present among all Hunting Horns, but playing this song will dish out a significant amount of damage including KO damage if you play the song on the monster's head.
If a player is able to queue up 3 Impact Echo Waves and the monster gets downed, playing this song including the Encore, beside the monster's head whill have a chance to down them again before they can get up.
